Our event, "Inside the Bar: Debunking Advocacy Misconceptions," will be a two-hour interactive discussion featuring professionals from various fields, including barristers, who will share insights on imposter syndrome, advocacy misconceptions, and application tips. The event is designed to help students develop confidence, gain practical advice, and network with experienced professionals.

Event Format & Duration
The event will run for two hours, divided into three key sections:

1 hour – Panel Discussion
Professionals from different sectors, including barristers, will discuss:
Imposter syndrome: how it manifests in different careers and strategies to overcome it.
Common misconceptions about advocacy and public speaking, including the reality of working in legal and other professional environments.
Practical application tips, including how to stand out in competitive fields and handle rejection.

30 minutes – Audience Q&A
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, either directly or through an online form which we will speak out loud.

30 minutes – Networking Session
A chance for attendees to engage informally with speakers, ask further questions, and build connections.

This event will provide a unique opportunity for students to gain insight from professionals, ask questions, and network in a supportive environment.
