This World Mental Health Day our Student Officer team took to campus with cups of positivi-tea and sweat treats to remind students to not ‘dodge their feelings’ and how to find support at the Guild.
For National Hate Crime Awareness Week we shared information on our social media channels reminding students that the Guild is a hate crime reporting centre and where to find support on campus.
Rowan, Jitendra and Othman braved the shave this Movember to help start conversations about the importance of checking in with our friends and looking after our mental health. The Officer team headed out with their Movember tea trolley to ensure the conversation continued throughout the month.
This year we asked students to complete SOS-UK's anonymous drug and alcohol survey to gain an insight into our students’ experiences and thoughts towards drugs and alcohol.
This Transgender Day of Remembrance we held a meet-up for all our student communities as a chance to reflect, as well as sharing information and support to the Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil held by our LGBTQ+ society and Gender Liberation society. We also highlighted key information from Cheer Up Luv on how we can all be better allies.
Vice President Holly led our Reclaim the Night campaign alongside officers from John Moore’s Student Union and Hope SU. We hosted banner making sessions and bystander intervention training. On 29th November we led a march through Liverpool city centre where over 150 attendees joined us to support Reclaim the Night.
In recognition of World Aids Day we invited Sahir House and the PaSH Partnership into our building. They provided free sexual health products, sharted space for students to submit messages of solidarity and provided information to help educate and end the stigma against HIV.
As part of International Day of Persons with Disabilities we launched a range of disability badges. These now sit in Guild Reception alongside our pronoun badges for students to pick up for free as they choose.
In recognition of World Aids Day, the Officers and Guild Advice will be hosting a stall where students can pick up free contraception, find out more information on advice, and collect their red ribbons to show their support
To honour Trans Day of Remembrance, the team shared a message of support for the Trans community, as well as resources available to students. We also highlighted events happening in Liverpool which recognised the importance of the day.
Interfaith week is an opportunity celebrate the diverse range of faith societies the Guild is home to. We welcomed our Faith societies to host stalls throughout the week and many hosted their own events to celebrate the week. Discover all our faith societies here

The theme of this year’s Addiction Awareness Week was ‘Everybody Knows Somebody’ with the aim to debunk myths and misconceptions and continue working to destigmatise addiction. We invited students to share their coming out journeys with us as a message of support to our students and hosted our LGBTQ+ student community meet up. Free pronoun badges are available at Guild Reception throughout the year, and you can find resources, support and our students’ stories in our National Coming Out Day blog
To mark World Mental Health Day, we anonymously decorated our building with lots of post-it notes filled with positive affirmations for students to find. Our Officers took to the Courtyard with their Posi-Tea Trolley, surprising students with hot drinks throughout the day.
Deputy President Lina and the Guild Advice team hosted a stall in the Guild, handing out free condoms and contraception packs, as well as providing information about support available to students across the city. It also served as an opportunity to remind students that they can find free contraception packs all year round in the Guild Shop and at Guild Reception.
