Student safety on campus has been one of my main priorities this year. From working on the new disciplinary system to raising awareness of report and support I have been eager to make campus a safe and more inclusive place.
The University and the Guild offer a range of support services open to all students. These include;
Universities chaperon service:
The Campus support team offers a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week chaperone service. They are happy to escort any student around the University campus to ensure that they feel safe whilst on campus. You can request the service by calling this number 0151 794 3252 You can also check out their webpage Chaperone service - Maps and directions - University of Liverpool
Guild Advice:
Our Advice Team offer free and confidential advice to all University of Liverpool students. We are independent from the University and here to support you, offering non-judgmental advice and guidance so you can make an informed decision about the options available to you. We deal with a wide range of academic, housing and wellbeing issues so if you are unsure just get in touch with guildadvice@liv.ac.uk to book an appointment.
University Wellbeing Advice and Guidance:
They provide confidential, non-judgemental one-to-one support, information, advice and guidance to students and staff. Safety in the city
Staying safe in the nighttime economy has also been a priority of mine throughout the year. As an officer I sit on various committees that look at student safety on campus and throughout the city. Spiking remains a concern for students, especially when out in clubs and bars across the city.
If you want to report any incidents that happen in University or outside of the University, you can use Report and Support Report + Support - University of Liverpool
After working with Liverpool City Council, they have made their webpage on reporting spiking more accessible. You can report venues where any spiking incidents occur. Complaints about licensed premises - Liverpool City Council
As well as reporting to the council if you would like to report any spiking incident to the police you can use their new reporting link to report any spiking incidents. https://www.merseyside.police.uk/ro/report/report-spiking/report-spiking/
