20th February marks the start of Sustainability Week and at the Guild we’re inviting you to get involved! Throughout the week we’re hosting a wide range of events showcasing all the sustainable work we have on at the Guild and loads of ways to expand your knowledge on how to be more sustainable. From discussion groups to hands-on activities, there’s something for everyone and plenty of places to learn more about sustainable living!
Looking to hear how you can be more sustainable and discuss the impact it can have on your community? We’ve got talks throughout the week to help broaden your knowledge.
With a session led by IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) and a stall run by our very own Sustainability Team, you’ll have the chance to learn how you can lead a more sustainable life. From everyday changes like how to make carbon conscious food choices, to joining the wider discussion on how we can decolonise and decarbonise education we’ve got sessions for every level of involvement!
Fancy something a little more hands-on? We have activities throughout the week ready for you to get involved with.
Make real change to your local area with the Smithdown Litter Pick or get stuck into Guerrilla Gardening and transform an unused piece of land into a habitat for a wealth of insects!
More of the indoor type? We’ve got you covered. Join us for a Creative Writing Nature Workshop or an afternoon of creating Climate Justice Art to explore sustainability from a new perspective.
If you’re looking for a more relaxing way to enjoy Sustainability Week, join us for a mindful walk in Formby Woods or a movie night in our very own cinema room. We’ll be screening Wall-E, a firm Disney fave that explores real sustainability issues! If you’re in Halls, come along to one of our Halls Exclusive movie nights – we'll supply the popcorn, just bring yourself!
