The University College Union (UCU) on Friday announced that they are pausing strike action for the next two weeks due to “reaching a point in discussions with our employers where they have made?significant progress across a range of issues.” They have said that to allow our ongoing negotiations to continue in a constructive environment they have agreed to pause action across pay and working conditions and USS pensions disputes for the next two weeks and “create a period of calm.”
This means the strikes on Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd February next week, and Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March will not go ahead. All of the action scheduled after these dates remains in place.
Our scheduled Teach-Out has been cancelled and may be postponed if the strikes continue in two weeks.
