Take Action
Sustainability is an equilibrium between the social, environmental and economic activities that aims to support the resources and life systems on earth. The Guild believe that to be truly sustainable, we must work to regenerate and integrate these systems in order to create thriving communities. Our practice of sustainability recognises that environmental, social and economic issues are interconnected and require a holistic approach to tackling these problems.
The climate emergency is threatening all life on earth as rising seas and extreme weather is damaging our food sources, health and quality of life. The UK is already seeing these effects through heat waves, floods, poor air quality and food shortages. Joining together to fight against climate change, we can work to improve the city we live in and to ensure that the earth is healthy and resilient for current and future generations.
Our events, volunteering opportunities and campaigns give students the chance to make their voice heard and take action. Students have the power to make simple, positive changes to individual habits, University practices and policies, and larger Governmental plans so that they have autonomy over their future.
