My manifesto
Your Voice, My Mission—Together, We Take Action!
Hi everyone! I’m Huda, a postgraduate law student, and I’m running to be one of your next Student Officers. As students, we all face challenges—whether it's the rising cost of living, academic pressures, and the need for a more inclusive and supportive campus. That’s why I want to push for meaningful improvements that will make a real difference in our university experience.
If elected, I will:
Make campus dining more inclusive & affordable – Work towards lowering prices at the Guild, reducing food waste, and increasing halal, plant-based, and gluten-free choices. Additionally, I will explore an affordable buffet option that students can access using their Student ID, making nutritious meals more accessible.
Celebrate diversity & inclusion – Push for more recognition of cultural and religious festivals, ensuring our campus truly reflects its diverse student community.
Ensure fair academic workloads – Advocate for better coordination of coursework deadlines to prevent overwhelming assessment overlaps and create a more manageable academic experience.
Strengthen student involvement in decision-making – Introduce regular student polls on key initiatives, so that you have a say in the decisions that affect your student experience.
Reduce financial barriers to student activities – Advocate for lower Athletic Union and Sports & Fitness Centre membership fees so that financial constraints do not prevent students from leading an active and healthy lifestyle.
As an international student, I understand the challenges of adjusting to a new environment, and I’m committed to making university life better for all. I am just like you—a student who wants to see positive change. Your voice matters! By supporting me, you're backing real, practical changes that will improve student life. Let’s make university more affordable, inclusive, and student-focused—together.
Vote for me, and let’s turn these ideas into action!
