My manifesto
Empower. Respond. Protect. Bringing student-led emergency medical response to campus—because every second counts, and every life matters.
I’m sure that as voters in the student body, you have heard of the generic, run-down, stereotypical campaigning points made each year but to no fruition. I would like to get your attention by introducing something completely novel to the University.
As a certified medic with hands-on experience in emergency response, I am committed to making the University of Liverpool a safer and more prepared place for students, staff, and visitors. That’s why I aim to establish an Emergency First Response Team (EFRT) on campus—a student-led initiative designed to provide immediate medical assistance in critical situations.
Why This Matters
• Empowering Students: EFRT will give students interested in healthcare, emergency response, and public service the opportunity to receive high-quality first aid and emergency response training. This will equip them with life-saving skills that can make a real difference.
• Enhancing Medical Education: Medical students will gain practical, hands-on experience in pre-hospital care, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world emergency situations. They will see firsthand how early intervention impacts patient outcomes before ambulances arrive.
• A Safer Campus for All: Whether it’s responding to medical emergencies at university events, in halls, or across campus, a dedicated student response team will help ensure that urgent care is available when needed, reducing response times and supporting professional emergency services.
How We’ll Achieve This
• Partnering with local emergency services and medical faculty to develop a training program.
• Securing funding and resources through the Guild to provide equipment, training, and operational support.
• Working with university administration to implement rapid response frameworks integrated with existing safety measures.
This is more than just a policy—it’s a movement to create a stronger, more resilient student community. Vote for me, and together, we’ll make Liverpool a leader in student-led emergency response.
