My manifesto
YOUR CAMPUS YOUR SAY!
I plan to keep working on my projects from last year and expand on them to make sure campus is a more inclusive place for all of us, make academic workloads more manageable, challenge the cost-of-living crisis, and ensure our university is not collaborating with any unethical companies!
1- Make academic workload more manageable: Throughout this year, I have been campaigning the university to stop assessment bunching, ensure the split between exams and coursework is manageable, and provide enough time for students to rest between January exams and second semester. I have been collecting students' feedback on these issues and will present the findings to the university soon to get some actions!
2- Challenge the cost of living crisis: I will keep working towards providing cheaper food options on campus, campaigning for cheaper laundry fees, and provididng more financial support for students struggling with money. I will also keep on organizing many events with free food for students.
3- Make campus more inclusive: I have been working on creating a quiet space in the guild which is coming very soon! I will also campaign for bidets on campus to better accommodate the needs of our diverse student body, as well as a bigger Muslim prayer room!
4- Cut unethical partnerships: I will keep challenging the university to stop doing research with arms companies and those complicit in Israel's crimes against the people of palestine, as well as not host them in any careers fairs. I will also campaign for the university to support higher education in Gaza universities.
