My manifesto
Diversity and Representation, Providing A Throne for Every Voice
Hi, I’m Queen, I’m a first-year law student. I value education on rights for all and being an advocate for the most vulnerable in society
Before coming to university, I was elected as an Equality and diversity officer, my motto was ‘every perspective matter’s. I organised a range of events I developed skills such as active listening, communication, public speaking and being able to use feedback to improve. I believe these skills will help me do a great job as guild president. Importantly I learnt persistence, there is always something better ahead. I believe as president; with your support and determination we can make things better.
Commitments
Bringing the University and community of Liverpool together- Hosting an event with all societies to showcase their talent, to celebrate how great we can truly be
More interactive Black history month-Liverpool has significant black history. We should showcase the diverse black culture here
Hosting regular meetings for students about issues they think they are important
Other visions:
Fixing up more areas of the university-Quicker maintenance on broken facilities
Advocating for mental health support- I think there should be even more and there should more links with mental health charities which may be small but are still impactful on the student community
More volunteering opportunities-Expanding volunteering at the university of Liverpool, from litter picking in local residential areas to helping schools in local areas
More circuit laundry-Some accommodations have 1000+ students with a minimal amount of washing machines
Overall, I aspire to bring a meaningful change to the university and make it a place that fosters even more growth.
